Meet Tyson, a.k.a. Captain Frenchie
By day, Tyson is a cream French Bulldog who supervises from the couch. When it's time to shop, he becomes Captain Frenchie and makes sure every flat-faced friend gets gear that actually fits: harnesses that keep pressure off the throat, cooling gear for dogs that run hot, and beds and bowls built for a squished face.
Every pick on this site is chosen with a dog like him in mind.
About the Captain:Captain Frenchie is a cartoon character based on Tyson, a real French Bulldog. The illustrations are digital artwork. Tyson and Captain Frenchie are not sponsored by, and do not endorse, any brand shown on this site.
Questions
Does Frenchie Depot sell products?
No. Product buttons link to Amazon, where you buy directly. As an Amazon Associate, Frenchie Depot earns from qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you.
How are the picks chosen?
Each pick is chosen for a French Bulldog's build: a flat face that overheats easily, a deep chest, a thick neck, short legs and skin folds. We research fit and reviews but don't personally test every item, so always check the listing before you buy.
How hot is too hot to walk a French Bulldog?
As a cautious rule of thumb, take extra care once the feels-like temperature passes 75°F, keep walks short and shady from 75 to 85°F, and keep your Frenchie inside above 85°F. Humidity, sun and hot pavement add risk, and puppies, seniors and dogs with breathing problems need more caution. This is general guidance, not veterinary advice.
How does the heat check work?
Enter a US zip code. The page looks up the current feels-like temperature for that area from Open-Meteo and compares it to Captain Frenchie's thresholds for flat-faced breeds. Your zip code isn't stored.
Who is Captain Frenchie?

Is this veterinary advice?
No. Everything on the site is general information for everyday care. For breathing problems, skin issues or anything health-related, talk to your veterinarian, and call a vet right away if you see signs of heatstroke.
